Tomie (1999)

Haunted by nightmares of a repressed trauma in her past, a young woman tries to recover her memories with the help of a Psychiatrist. During her hypnosis sessions, she repeats the name "Tomie" but is unable to recall where she knows it from. Meanwhile, a police detective is investigating a string of brutal murders, where he also runs across the name Tomie. How are the two connected?  Based on the popular Manga series by Junji Ito and directed by Ataru Oikawa. This is the first feature in the popular cycle of films about the beautiful and vengeful teen with supernatural powers named Tomie. Thrilling, entertaining and scary, it’s Asian horror at it’s best.
